A modern variation on the classic lake camp, this waterfront home blends effortlessly with its surroundings, from the green exteriors to its granite tiles and fieldstone walls.

Collaborating with the homeowners, architect and builder, Hillsgrove captured the rippling effect of a pebble in the lake with three retaining walls of fieldstone around the house, capped by natural bluestone. Each level has its own landscaping, with a curved stair connecting the wrap-around patio to lake level. Handpicked fieldstones of warm buff and gray were used for the twin fireplaces and chimneys, providing a natural look that not only complements the lake, woods and mountains, but also blends with interior decor.
